Tube in a tubless tire???

Picked up a nail once in my pickup . Spare was flat, DUH. Pulled out a screw that held the number plate on and screwed it into the hole . Took the weight with the jack and removed the valve , cut off the nozzle of my CFC fire extinguisher and pushed the hose over the valve . Pumped up the tyre and quickly put the valve back in . Got me back to the servo , about 10 k's so i could have them BOTH repaired .

I was in a similar situation this weekend. I picked up a nail in the front tire of my new (to me) riding mower. It was holding air and everything, but I just had to "fix it right".

So, being the handy guy that I am with all of the handy tools that I have, I pulled out my tubeless patch kit. I reamed the hole, slimed the plug and stuck it in.

The next day the tire was flat as a pancake. I spent a good deal of time with a cup of soapy water before I figured out there was a big slash in the sidewall...and...a tube!

So yes, a nail will hold the air in a tire at least temporarily. Yes, you can put a tube in a tubeless tire; and No, you can't patch a tube with a tubeless patch kit.

Thank's , we do have a road service but that does'nt earn the Testosterone points i aquired from mommy , although i did get a deduction for the spare being flat .....
