CT-230. There is a tube coming from the center of the tractor heading forward to presumably a radiator, I have replaced the o-rings and a couple gallons of hyd fluid... it still leaks. After more investigation I found a crack in the weld of the end fitting and tube union.

What pressure does this see?
Can it be re-welded?
Can I pull this tube without draining the fluid first?

Here is a link to the Kioti drawing I found online... Part #16 Parts Finder Michigan Iron and Equipment Morrice, MI (855) 265-459

Important for us to understand for sure which tube you are referring too. There is a tube on both sides coming from the middle in route to the oil cooler right in front of the radiator. Right side (sitting on seat comes from filter), left side back to transmission sump. I don't believe either side sees high pressure. If one of these is the line which end is leaking? See page 186 & 187 here. http://www.hafog.dk/media/ReservedelskatalogKiotiCK27.pdf

Woops, you got back before I did. Do those lines have flared ends? Steel or aluminum?

I'm old and slow but finally catching up to you, at least a little bit. I now understand which line. Am I correct it is cracked right close to where it attaches to the transmission? If so, and the line is steel is could easily be taken off and acetylene welded.

Winston1,
Yes, the crack is right near where it attaches to the transmission. I'm not 100% sure if it's aluminum or steel. I assumed steel, but now that you asked the question, I too am questioning. It makes sense that this line sees little pressure. It also make sense that it leaks a small amount when the tractor is off and considerably more when the tractor is running. I first replaced the o-rings, and that didn't fix my problem.

Now I need to find a welder.

Yes, there would be some pressure, but not high pressure. Oil filters and coolers are not designed for high pressure. My guess less than a hundred pounds where your high pressure side might be 2000 psi or higher.

I know this is an older post but, the same thing happened to me,

Now this is a steel pipe and it's solid on each end, if their is a vibration between the radiator and the transmition, something has got to give, so yes mine did crack also,
What I ended up doing was remove the pipe, blaze the fitting back on, the I cut the pipe in two, took 6 inch off the length of the pipi, braze 2 fitting on each end of the cut, then had a small 6 inch hydraulic line made and installed this in between my two halves, and re install, now their a rubber Hydraulic hose in the middle of this steel pipe, this hydraulic hose absorbs the vibration,

I hope I made this clear? If not ask me some questions.

Thnx

I have used JB weld on a similar repair on a motorcycle crankcase and had good luck. Might be worth a try.
