I have several thorny trees in my woods and was going to put slime in my front R4 tires to help cut down on flats. Can anyone tell me if they are tubed or tubeless. Foaming them seems like it would add more weight than I want to haul around and is quite pricey. Will probaly put it in my JD Gator and ATV tires as well.

Look at your valve stems and see what kind they are. Tubless should be a sealed one and the tube stem will just stick threw the hole in the rim. Chances are they are tubless but that JMO

Pretty frustrating when people ask questions they should already know the answers to. Kind of new to maintaining my own tractor and keep forgetting they are a mechanical piece of equipment very similar to cars, trucks, bicycles, etc. Anywhoooo, thanks for the quick answer to something I already knew but was too stupid to remember.:)

Save your axle use slime, the foam will put more stress on the front axle transmitting the bounce and bang much like a snapping a ruler but not as harmonic.

I would use more "Slime" in the atv and Gator as the tires have more surface area.

I agree. Slime wins!!!! tubless and tubes are poor. If not for SLIME, I would be out of service 90% of the time!!!!

I know what the tire flat stuff is, these guys sound like they are filling the tires up with it before it get's a flat, and that's better than having a tube?
Am I reading these posts right?

Just do some checking first! Some brands of "flat-stop" will eat rims, not sure about "Slime". Don't know what brand my JD 420 had in the front tires, but it eat a hole through the rim:
