Hmm. So... Turbo from the start, I assume. And what about adding turbo (and intercooler, as seen elsewhere in the thread)? Of course... Yeah. Well. For now, I don't need any more power. I'll let you know when I'm running short :) That should happen next spring, of course (when I'm working more on clearing out the trees that are in the middle of my fields).

probably better to upgrade the whole tractor. adding hp puts stresses on everything else. more power, less weight, might change the way the tractor works.

I've only ever retro-fitted 2 turbos
1. Ford 6610 -Brand new TB turbo, Pipework from a wrecker ,No intercooler,No upgrades to crank or shells or anything. This tractor was 10 years old and had 1800 hours when fitted and i ran it to 7000 problem free,With a little more fuel i got 20 hp more.
2. MF 6160 _ I had this done by MF , All new parts,Upgrade crank shaft,No muffler conversion,No intercooler ,This tractor was less than a year old 1100 hrs.
With a little fuel i got nearly 40 hp extra this tractor was a monster i sold it at 6000 hours (electrical problems)

An intercooler is not required unless your turbocompressor is putting out >8psi .
