Turf Renovator

I have a small 3-pt spreader similar to what Hazmat mentions. I bought it for the BX-2200 that I recently traded for a BX-22. It's a decent spreader for the money, allthough best with pelletized materials. I have spread grass seed with it, however, and it did a nice job. The trick is to find "just the right speed" at the PTO to get the pattern width you want for the area you are seeding.

Hi Laura, the renovator is an excellent attachment for your Bota'. I would probably suggest the 5' model as opposed to the 6' model for your sized tractor. I have used this attachment plenty of times and leave the front drums set in the most aggresive position possible. I however don't care for the drop seeder for the attachment tends to bounce around so to speak on your terrain which in turn loosens up the setting on the seeder. I always spin cast anyway. You may wish to load your tires as well. Good luck to ya.

You've used one on existing turf? The pulverizer does a great finish job for a new seed bed, but I've not used one on existing turf to overseed. What does the finished job look like?

I've used my str 48 on existing turf. For Bermuda grass it will tear runners, but it does not destroy the turf. The end results out weigh th destruction done on the overseeding process. On fescue with the rollers not so agressive the tearing action on turf leaves the soil ready to recieve seed.
