Turf tires on front with ag rears?

All good points, and thanks for the replies. My problem is that the lawn is not thriving turf, but a shaded hill with many maple trees and thin grass. I was hoping the the turf tires might not tear up the ground so much until I can get the grass a little more lush.

It's been said, but you haven't mentioned whether you are mowing in 4WD. Don't - if you can. It's a big difference on your turf to have the front-assist off when you're turning. BIG difference.

No, I mow in 2wd except for one steep section of the hill where I use 4wd to keep the wheels from spinning. I should mention too that the ground was pretty saturated with the all rain that we had a couple weeks ago.
