Turf tires should go, R4's? R1's?

I have a 35hp Branson. I ordered it with R-4s and they were worth every penny. I have spread a lot of dirt with a box blade and had no problems with traction. If I hang a root I have spun all 4 tires but I just raise the blade and drive off. They are perfect for compacting soil after spreading too. I cut my grass with a 5' finish mower and if it isn't real wet or I don't turn real sharp they don't hurt the grass.
I have had 3 Fords, 8N 9N and 2000 with R-1s and with the 4 wheel drive now I have more traction.
Turf tires are for just that, mowing grass. Not meant for real work.

found a R4 deep traction-large contact surface tire that will fit on my 11" rims. (I don't have 12" rims, musta read it wrong..) with rolling circumference virtually the same as my turfs.. I did have to spend way too much time poring over web site specs while at work, and do my job at same time:eek:

I don't think that is an R4 tire. It's either an R1, R1W, or R2.

Page five of this pdf has pictures of the different tread patterns.

Your planned uses have R4 written all over them. R1W would be my second choice. I think you'll be happy when you lose the turf tires.

Well with my choice from titan I'm trying to stay at the same rolling circum.
as the rear turfs.. then I should be able to keep the front( they're fairly new) tires (turfs) . rear turfs

the rear same rolling circ. r(?)

montejw, I like the tread on that better, but has a smaller circumference.:(

unless I can find a more aggressive tread at 112" rc.16" x11" rim ..oh well it looks better than what I've got..:)

I have Titan R-4s on my 4x4 farmtrac 270, 12-80-18 rear, and 23x12 fronts, very tough tires, excellent puncture resistance, good stability, good road manners, good wear, decent in snow, not to tough on dry yard, as for serious mud, well, uh, hmm, uh, work about as well as trying to rollerskate on a greased cookie sheet, I will soon be biting the bullet and ordering a set of 23 degree firestone R1s with rims, size 9.5-24 rear and 8-16 front for when I need to go in the wet part of my land and go up and down the ravine, expensive, but still way cheaper than a track machine, and not having to borrow every chain , rope, towstrap, and cable on my street anymore to reach me when I am stuck at the bottom of my ravine due to the R-4s being packed solid in mud, priceless. My take is that each respective tire is good for some jobs, but I have yet to see one that works well in everything.

seems with 4x4 I'll have to stay at the proper rolling circumference ..and this last tire here is the only non-turf tire for my rim size with same rolling circ...112" ..otherwise I'll need new frt tires+rims, or all new tires and rims..$$$$$$:( ..
I admit it doesn't look as good as top pic but will havta do..
