I am working on getting my turn signal/flashers working on a BX22. They haven't worked since I bought it.

When I turn the turn signal on, I can hear the flasher clicking like it should, but no lights. I pulled the bulbs and 3 out of 4 are bad. I hooked a volt meter and also test light to the light sockets and I am getting nothing. I hot wired the turn signal switch and it clicks, but still no juice so the light socket. Same with the 4 ways except the flasher unit sounds half dead. It clicks, then waits, clicks again. Still no juice at the light socket. Any ideas?

If you are looking at the back of the tractor, on top, you have 2 round amber lights. What are those, for both flasher and turn signal? Below that, you have 2 smaller amber rectangle lights. What are those?

I was going to pull the flasher unit for both the turn signal and 4 ways and see about finding a replacement, but I cannot find out where the flasher is located on the tractor. I can hear it click, but the fuel pump is clicking the same time so it is hard to locate by sound.

I pulled the steering wheel hoping to get the dashboard up, but something is keeping it from coming completely off, so I am somewhat limited to the underneath access of the dash. It looks like a wire harness is keeping it from coming up any further and I cannot get under the dash enough to disconnect the harness. That is fine if I can located the flasher unit as is.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, when I turn the turn signals on, the dash lights do not turn on either and I did check the bulbs and they are good.

My switches have always given me fits.

The dealer has a way of going in there and 'fixing' the contacts which helped my headlight switch. But when he did it last time on the turn signal switch, it made it act very eradically...the signals would turn on at random times. I'd be mowing and signal a 'left turn' right by the flower bed. Comical. I unpluged the switch and rendered my turn signal capabilities useless, for all the times I used it (zero).

It looks like you're digging into a complicated problem, but I just wanted to say that the switches are junk and that may be the source of all the random issues.

I got it figured out finally. After looking in the manual, there was a fuse missing for the hazards. I replaced that and also replaced all of the bulbs and everything is working now. I didn't realize that there was a fuse missing at first, I thought it was just an empty slot. Weird.
