Could you please print a schedule of when and where you will be towing that rig? That way, I won't be on the road at the same time. :D

Are you that bad of driver that you can't be on the road with other people? :confused2: At least you know that you are that bad and admit it.:D

We see FB boat trailers also but they hoist the boat off, not able to launch. Smallest boat I deal with is 26', longest is just over 83' houseboat.

OK, I guess I had that coming.

I hope that you don't ever experience any problems, but towing a trailer that is almost twice as long and twice as heavy as the tow vehicle can be an accident waiting to happen.
Just because you can do it, or you have done it, does not necessarily make it a good idea. (especially if a novice is reading this thread)

This is a 32 footer behind a crew cab that we drove across the rockies in 2006. It is a loooong rig. But notice how close the axles are to the truck. It really wasn't a problem going anywhere with it.

This makes no sense. Average semi weighs 15,000# and about 22' long. Trailer is 65,000# and 53'

Every 5th wheel camper running down the road being pulled by a truck is roughly twice the length and weight of the truck pulling it.

My boat is 15,600# and is pulled by my 7,600# F-350 every weekend.

Just about every 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, and 1 ton truck sold today has 2 to 3 times its empty weight in tow rating. Example, Ford/GM/Dodge diesel duallys are now rated to pull 22,000# plus or minus and weigh in at 8,000# plus or minus.

I think we found the novice here.

People make such a big deal out of "its only a 1/2 ton". I have a 2008 Nissan Titan, a 1/2 ton, and I would put it up against any 3/4 ton gas made in the 90's. It will flat stomp it, just as GM, Dodge, Ford, and Toyota's 1/2 tons.

I tow every weekend 150 miles or more plus about 100 miles during the week. I tow to a boat launch/camp ground where there is over 300 camp sites and that many or more boats being launched and 2/3 of the stuff being pulled in and out is behind 5 year old or less 1/2 tons. Big loads with no issues. I do not see a miles of crashed vehicle littering the sides of the road bodies laid out everywhere.:(

Back on topic, truck is a F350 crew cab long box, 2001 so not tight steering. My 27 ft deck / 31 ft overall bumper pull flatdeck had been going in and out a driveway all summer. Some garbage bins were set out making it 2 ft narrower (there was room for 2 pickups to pass next to each other). I creamed the wooden garbage box on the other side with 14000 lbs on the trailer.

I wouldn't have made it with a gooseneck at all without 3 point turn.
