If this relative don't think that your rates are reasonable I think you could tell them of a cheaper way to do it their self. A shovel, a mattock, a pick, and a rock bar, and a sledge hammer with their efforts of their back would get it done in no time at all, and a way sooner than you would be able to get to it. Mention to them how much money they could save doing it their self, they could use that money to buy even more tools to do the jobs they need to do.

Her husband is pretty well off, but what gets me when I toldd them that I was slowing down my jobs they acted offended.
Taylor, like drugs, JUST SAY NO!!

Of course they are offended. Why won't you work your butt off so they can spend time at the lake? Give them a list of three people that might be able to do it, three people you don't like.

You have to sneak onto their properties at night or when they've gone into town and complete any tasks they've started.

And start tasks they haven't thought of. This one is best. It will even you up, favor wise. Or at least it will keep them from doing you any more favors. Either way you're problem will be solved.

I think if you end up doing any work for them you will end up regretting it big time.
As some else posted they will probably find fault with what you did and then try to get paid by them. Run, won稚 walk away from them.

Exactly. I would not run away, I would drive like H E double hockey sticks.:laughing::laughing:

I am surprised they asked again.

Later,
Dan

I've got the opposite problem. I wish my neighbors took me up on my hospitality more. Everybody in the neighborhood is sincerely generous. Once in a while, I'll borrow one neighbor's wood splitter (and toss some wood his way when I return it to say thanks). My tiller was in the shop this spring, and I borrowed another neighbor's tiller to get my garden in before the rain came. I have a bunch of equipment... heck now I've got a tractor... and I wish they would turn up at my doorstep some time asking to borrow something so I could repay the favor, but they never do. Once, I heard one neighbor start to mow, then stop, then start cussing at his mower. I figured it had broken, so I drove mine over and asked if he wanted to borrow it. I felt really good about it. But those opportunities hardly ever seem to come up. As nice as everybody has been to me, I'd love to return the favor, but they either don't seem to need it or, more likely, don't think to ask.

I don't expect anybody to come up with a solution for me... just saying.
Often those people were helped out by someone else in the past, and are now glad for a chance to pass on the favor.
Not trying to give a solution, just giving my opinion.

Weird? My wife is exactly the opposite. She won't let me accept favors when they are offered, but she sure is liberal with offering me up to do favors for others.

Next time she wants to offer you up to one of her friends, just for S&G, ask when she is going to lend you out to one of her good looking single and sexy friends! :D

Mace that reminds me what I pulled on my wife one time. She was ill all week about something and had been on my case. I figure to add to the flames Id pull this. My neighbor that had a couple rent houses had a girl that was an exotic dancer. My neighbor called me to add onto the driveway. My wife wasnt to keen o nthe idea even though I was doing it for the neighbor. As I left my wife a made a comment. I stood there and she asked what I was doing and I said I was trying to decide wther to donate the work of trade it out. A salt shaker passed my head at a high rate of speed.

After learning the hard way that my wife's family mostly stinks ..... and after 25 years of being a leo ..... I can safely say with confidence that people in general suck and I'm glad I have dogs to maintain a friendship with.
