Put a voltmeter across the battery terminals, no need to take the cables off. That machine will probably charge around 13.5 volts DC. If it isn't let me know and I can give you some other things to test.

My old B8200 needed two batteries in the time I had it. A low battery just would not spin it fast enough to get it to fire. Charging was fine, just too many years on each of the batteries(about 6 each time).
