Your welcome. I hope you find it there. I have definately enjoyed mine. The way the wind blows here and me living in a mobilehome... this was a good choice for me. The standard antennas here really don't last long. Once I set this antenna I haven't even needed a rotor. It catches signals from sides, front and back. No ghosts either.

Thanks for the link. This proves that we should save our money. I wonder if Muhammad has seen this. I don't think he would allow this to be advertised here at TBN if he had.

What about it Muhammad? Have you seen this info? >> http://hdtvok.com/article.php?sid=775

Jim, what is the model number of the RCA antenna you have?

How far are you recieving stations? And and lastly, How high off the ground do you have it mounted?
Thanks for any info,
Gene

I will have to look for paper work. I have had it about two or three years now and I have been very satisfied. The longest distance I have received a very good picture is Charlotte, NC and that is 150 miles from me. The next picture was Winston-Salem, NC and that is a little over 200 miles from me. I live in Westminster, SC.

Lowe's and Wal-Mart use to carry this antenna I have. Lowe's doesn't carry the TV antennas in our area anymore.

Again I will find the Model # and post it as soon as I find the paper work. We moved here from Seneca, SC where we had really good TV reception with it in the city to the country where we actually got better TV reception with this antenna. I didn't expect it, but I was very pleased with it.

I did find a newer model at Target.com similiar to it. I don't recall the exact db gain on mine but I will find paperwork. Here is the other one I found. It is about the same price range from RCA. Design is same but a little different looking.

Sorry I didn't have the info you requested immediately... but I will find it or take the antenna down and get it off it. BY the way... antenna is only 18 feet from the ground surface. Also the antenna is grounded and the pole is grounded separately with two different ground wires using a insulated #8 copper solid wire for antenna ground and a Non-insulated # 8 ground for antenna mass. I think it was #8 size... same size as they use to ground electric meters here in Oconee, County SC.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions, but don't take your antenna down just to find the model number. I was interested in it because it is not directional. I only live 20-35 miles from my local stations but have to compromise the signal on some because of directional issues and I don't use a rotator.

Just a general comment. Height makes a big difference, and I did not see any comments on that. The old rule of thumb was that the signal strength doubles for every 10 feet increase in height. Sometimes this is fairly easy, sometimes it is not. My belief is that if you have a $400 TV set, it is probably worth an additional $400 (if you need it) to get decent reception. Amplifiers can help, but not if the signal is weak. They will just amplifiy noise. Amplifiers are best if you have a long wire from the antenna to the TV not to boost a signal that is weak at the antenna. I am not an expert here, but this has been my experience.
