I'm on the left coast and in WA you don't even need to take a class. They take your finger prints, make you sign a paper, and then you get your concealed carry permit in a couple of weeks valid for 5 years. Legal to carry in all places other than airports, courthouses, bars, or schools.

Yes, I have stood in line at the bank with a concealed 40S&W on my hip and I can once again buy 30 shot banana clips too since that silly AR ban and all its strings has expired.

I got my CWP as soon as I turned 21 along with my first handgun. Certain rights of passage must be taken.

Private gun ownership is alive and well out here. There are restrictions to owning "assault" rifles according to classification and other laws that are federal. QUOTE]

In New Hampshire "assault" is still a verb, but the next several states south consider it an adjective as does CA.
Our concealed carry permits take about 10 day but are classifed "shall issue" which means 'unless there's a legal reason not to' & are hand delivered to your residence, at least our Chief of Police does this to confirm the address. MikeD74T

Kansas was one of the last four states to not have concealed carry and it took an override of the idiot Governor's veto to finally get it.

We used to carry, both concealed and open, all the time when I was young. Not for protection but, for instance, if we were out rabbit hunting and decided to take a break and grab a hamburger somewhere, the K22 stayed right where it was--in the shoulder holster under the coat. Nobody cared back then (the '60's and '70s) if they saw someone with a gun. In my dad's day, they took .22's to school and hunted squirrels and rabbits on the way home.

Those days are long gone. Years of brainwashing have convinced nearly everyone that an armed man is a dangerous man.

Btw, someone mentioned the black Nylon 66 with stainless barrel (it was called Apache Black, as I recall, versus Mohawk Brown for the other one). I had one, but I think it was nickel plated, not stainless. Wish I'd have kept it, just like every other gun I've ever gotten rid of.

Thanks for having reciprocity with Oklahoma.

Note to LEFT COASTERS: When I use LEFT COAST as a pejorative it by definition only covers Kalifornia and parts of californiaized Oregon.

By the way Charles you didn't list any sim time, just TT and actual instrument. My USAF experience includes 3+ years as instrument flying instructor on a Link instrument trainer where when I didn't have a student in it I flew it. I don't know for sure exactly how much sim time I have but likely well over 3000 hrs. I used to joke that I was fine under the hood but if you let me see the actual horizon I would get vertigo!

As long as we're all in a gun totin' mood, here is my version of the "Mountain Rifle". It started out as a 14" barreled hand gun chambered in 7/30 waters then I bought the 21" barrel and went to the woodshop and made the stock and forearm. Now I just need to mount it on my tractor.

Cool work. Congrats, it is pretty.

I been meaning to put a rack in my little Kubota cab but it will take some figurin' as there is not much space. I want to carry my suppressed Ruger 10-22 with scope. Might even include a hold down for the supressed Walther P-22.

Seems varmints are easier to apporoach by tractor.
