Not familiar with your equip. Usually a single disc (no Live PTO) is adjusted so that the pedal has to be depressed roughly 2" (measured at the farthest end of the pedal) before you feel the resistance of the clutch springs.
If no spac (if you feel pressure immediately) you have the springs constantly depressed, how much is anyone's guess and with that the backing plate pressure is somewhat released and the disc can spin.
Otherwise, you may just have a worn out disc/weak pressure plate springs, and cannot adjust it any more to get the needed pressure to hold against a load. Time for a new disc and PP.
