TX1300F electric problem

   / TX1300F electric problem #11
Hey old man,
It sounds like you have two things going on. First is your ground.
on my 1300 the dash IS the ground to the steering column which is
bolted to the chassis which completes the ground circuit.
The 4 bolts that hold my dash on have lock washers that bite into
the dash making a good ground. I think the reason the hood hold downs
were hot is because they were acting as a ground circuit although not
a good one because they were hot. Make sure the 4 bolts that hold
the steering column onto chassis are tight also.
The 2nd thing I think is going on is the solenoid on your starter is
going bad. I think when you were putting it back onto the 1300
it was knocked around enough to have solenoid work when your
friend tried it. To see if that is the problem, use the jumper
wire from battery to the small post on the solenoid and if it
does not try to start take a small hammer and tap on the
solenoid to see if it will engage.

Pedro, you're the man!!! I followed you lead, connected two cables (as thick as i could find), and it started. The lights on the dash look different (more weak, and only one works), but i really don't care. As long as the tractor is working.

@Chris: Thanks for the documents. I will keep them for winter, the tx1300f i will keep for sure, so in winter i'm going to try full service on all the oil-, greased-, and cable issues. By now i realise you have to put a lot of time and care in these old machines to keep them happy...

@Don: It took some time to find out what a solenoid is ;). This trick i will also look at when going into service-mode in winter. How have you been? I haven't seen you around here a while...?

Anyway thanks everybody for support (again). Really happy that i have both iseki's working at this moment. Progress on the ground is ok, by now i have 3000 garlic in the ground... Really happy...
