TYM 233 Frame broke again

   / TYM 233 Frame broke again #11
Mine is not at Reid's but they did replace the frame the first time. Nice shop ,good people . Currently my TYM 233 is in a snow bank waiting for spring and a new frame that will be put under it by me , then sold . I have change brands of tractor to something more reliable with a much better parts supply.
If you have to pay for the new frame take the loader mount off and weld the frame back together. Mine was out of warranty so that's what I did.

Wish there were a photo? Curious about the word frame? With compacts, engine just bolts to transmission housing. Again, confused by what is meant by frame?

Some compacts utilize steel mount plates that run forward from the engine sump and support the radiator, battery and may also mount the front differential. somewhat different than tractors that utilize a cast steel (single piece) front mount assembly. Not knocking the steel plate designs but Am a fan of the cast steel designs. imo they have better rigidity.

An example would be the LS model that caused fan blade contact with radiator shroud due to movement/cracking- or bending. LS jumped right on it and updated strengthened the design . haven't heard of any problems since and that was at least 3 years ago.
