Hello, I need some help picking the right antifreeze for my cabela's tym lm43h with a perkins 404d-22 . 400 series motor there web page says to use there elc antifreeze but the tym manual says to a 50/50 ethylene glycol /water astm d4985 / d6210 type . What type do you guys use that's green in color. something for -30 for the iowa winters thanks.

You may purchase premixed 50/50 or buy antifreeze and mix your own. If mixing your own be sure to use distilled water not tap or well water to prevent buildup in your system. A mix of 49% ethylene glycol will give you -30 degree Fahrenheit protection. If you increase the concentration to 52.5% ethylene glycol you're good to -40 degrees F. You should use no more ethylene glycol than necessary as the heat transfer is not as good as water. Too much ethylene glycol will give less cooling in the summer.
