Im looking into either Tym 264 or Kioti 2610. I have around 50 acres and half a mile drive way to somewhat maintain. Id like to have add on a grapple for removing fallen trees on the property but still want a small enough tractor to use around the house for yard work. Has anyone had positive experiences with either one of these tractors. The closest kioti dealer is about 15 miles away and i dont not have a tym dealer around but the dealer in nc said they would pay any local tractor repair shop for warranty work.

I would go with the Kioti over the tym just my..:2cents: The dealer is close and you will get better service if needed.....

I have a Kioti 3510SE. It is the same frame size as the 2610. It works well in our yard. The loader has plenty of lift for a grapple. Be sure ot add lots of rear ballast. I have close to 1100 lbs on the 3 point & it is not enough when lifing close to loader capacity.

Go with the one that you can get dealer warranty service. Third party warranty service does not work out well.

How long has local Kioti dealer been in business? Is there a good chance he may stop selling Kioti's?

How large diameter are the trees you'll be moving with a grapple? Tree trunks get heavy fast as they get larger. You can use the log weight calculator here Log Weight Calculator at WOODWEB
to get an idea what they'll weigh.

So far the largest tree I've had to deal with here was 4.5' diameter. I could not pick up a log, even a short one. I had to cut it into rounds and pick those up. There's times I've wished for more loader capacity. You can use an implement as a counterweight but a dedicated one can be heavier and interfere with manuverability less.

My CK3510SE, has performed very well, nice tractor - lift capacity will be the same - I have loaded rears - has plenty of power / lift for a compact....

The 2610 w/KL4030 loader has a quoted lift capacity of 1835 pounds at the pins. Add a 600 pound grapple and you will reduce the lift capacity by about 800 pounds. So a realistic lift capacity will be in the 800-1000 pound range.

AND who is going to determine what is warr. in the first place? Surely not you, and then what? Someone over the telephone?? IF you believe THAT will work, I will sell you this BIG bridge cheep!

There's your answer right there !!

I have been very happy with my Kioti DK40SE. No issues at all since day one. Looked close at the TYM a couple times and would have no hesitation to own one but just felt more comfortable on the Kioti.
A selling dealer telling me any local repair shop would be able to do warrantee repairs wouldn’t make me confident. I would want to see and talk to the local repair shop first and then see a written agreement between the dealer and that shop that the shop is 100% happy with.
Now I am not one to be worried about a dealer being close but when you state out of state, is that just across the border or a 12 hour drive. Most repairs are minor but every now and then someone gets some frustration with a new tractor from any and all manufacturers. This is when I would have to consider what is reasonable distance to travel, do You have a truck and trailer, are you willing to travel if problems arise?
For me that distance might vary in miles but time is what is important, so I would base it on time to get there and home in the unlucky situation You had real issues.
Regular maintenance isn’t a consideration for me as I do all my own on everything

Go Kioti. You want to think about who will service/repair it AFTER warranty. First question any service area asks is "Did you buy it here?" I'm lucky I moved to a county where there was a Kioti dealer only 10 miles away. The dealer in NC will say anything to get a sale.
