I have been very happy with my Kioti DK40SE. No issues at all since day one. Looked close at the TYM a couple times and would have no hesitation to own one but just felt more comfortable on the Kioti.
A selling dealer telling me any local repair shop would be able to do warrantee repairs wouldn’t make me confident. I would want to see and talk to the local repair shop first and then see a written agreement between the dealer and that shop that the shop is 100% happy with.
Now I am not one to be worried about a dealer being close but when you state out of state, is that just across the border or a 12 hour drive. Most repairs are minor but every now and then someone gets some frustration with a new tractor from any and all manufacturers. This is when I would have to consider what is reasonable distance to travel, do You have a truck and trailer, are you willing to travel if problems arise?
For me that distance might vary in miles but time is what is important, so I would base it on time to get there and home in the unlucky situation You had real issues.
Regular maintenance isn’t a consideration for me as I do all my own on everything
