Decided I wanted to get back into a HST transmission Tractor. Went with a new TYM T474 HC…..View attachment 3539959
Had the dealer load the rear tires, add a plug-in block heater, and the 3rd function kit down the loader. Should make for a comfortable, year round work horse.

Who else has one of these or the 494/574?
..
I’ve had my T474 a couple of months now. It is used for logging. I don’t know if there is anything more demanding on a tractor - moving heavy logs, pulling stumps, running a chipper. I’ve learned I need to be easier with it than I was on the John Deere. I’ve already bent the loader mounts, but they have been replaced with new ones and reinforced.

What JD model did you compare it to?

I still have the JD 3320R. It's a low HP tractor for it's frame and the T474 is a high HP tractor for it's frame.

Problems with my TYM. Here we go again. TYM474HC has less than 50 hours on it and it’s in the shop. Keeps losing RPMs to the point of almost stalling. Took it to the closest TYM dealer and asked them to do the 50 hour service and find out what is going on with it.(47 hours) They completed the 50 hour service and I think it was $390ish dollars. No problem. Thanks for doing it. They thought they knew what the problem was and showed me how the hydraulic filter’s insides had collapsed. What? Said they never seen it before. Must of been a defect from factory. Me either. Never seen that before. But everything worked fine now when they drove it. Brought it home and found time to use it the next day or two. Did a little moving of sticks and stones in the bucket and after 10-12 minutes I started to do some back dragging to level the area off. RPMs dropped to almost nothing again and kept doing it. I had to drive it back slowly to the barn. Called them up and they said okay we will come and pick it up. It’s been two weeks tomorrow. They are a busy place. I get it. They told me last Saturday that they thought they would get it in Monday and have it back to me Monday or Tuesday afternoon. It’s now Friday. Frustrating. To say the least. Just dam depressing, souring my mood toward everything. I have literally mowed grass with it, moved a few buckets of dirt, rocks, sticks, and turned the horse manure pile several times. About 47 hours on it. No response when I call them. Get answering machine and it says to leave a text. Did that. No response. Just lost on what to do. Wait. I guess.

I guess I should have spent the extra $20,000 and bought a new Kubota. Or better yet. Bought a used Kubota about the same price. Never had any problems with the Kubotas. :cautious:
