Type of car

I had no idea which was a Willys or Henry J, but I felt bad missing the 50s era Mercs (2 missed). My brother and I used to have a contest in the car when we went on trips in the 50s. We'd try to be the first to identify the oncoming cars by make and model. We'd often confuse a Packard with a Mercury. Probably the easiest to ID from the front were the Studebakers.

BTW: Does anybody know a similar website for 50s/60s era pickup trucks? Some of the differences in those were really subtle.

Me too. Wish there was more distinctive variety.

But, for aerodynamics, and resulting fuel mileage, they will start to look the same. Can't remember if it was here on TBN, but a few years ago there was a forum discussion about that. There is a perfect aerodynamic form, and as manufacturers strive for better aerodynamics, it leads them all to the same shape.

I wonder though, in 1960, what folks thought of the cars at the time. And in 1970 ect. Did they think the tail fins ect were cool, or did they shake their heads...?

BTW, I got a measly 62%...

Wife's car today is a silver Saturn L-300 4 door....do have any idea how many cars there are on the road that are "mid-size-silver-jellybean-too" ....Jeez, when I go places I see cars that resemble hers a hundred times a day or more.
