Does anyone have any experience with the logging winches that are sold at Tytan tractor in Chehalis, wa.? Last time I checked they were about $1600. Seems like a great price compared to the big name brands. I don’t want to spend big money on something that will only be used 2 or 3 months a year.

i mean, if you can look at the item, and see the quality or lack of and you are happy with it, and are confident that you can fix it if it is broken, and expect no support, than i guess something from one of these manufactures would be ok. i certainly would not buy much with any major moving parts.
side note, i have never seen a "rotary disk" before, as presented in the pictures on that site about the tytan tractors. it seems puzzling to rotate the disks when they have no tooth. any one want to explain that to me?

Tytan has had a less than shiny reputation with customers in the past. I even called them on blatantly false advertising, and they would not answer emails or return calls. Hope that has been fixed.
