The rats in my barn likely performed the same "battery of tests" to conclude that yes, those bait pellets were in fact, Cheetos.
But the devil's in the details ... ;)

I used Wal Mart trans oil for my 50 hour change and I then put 500 hours on it without any trouble in my L4200 GST. Since I"m not as spry as I used to be and I figured this would be my last trans oil change I used the Kubota Super UDT for my 550 hour change........... My tractor's engine runs cooler. Its not my imagination. Everythings the same, mower, weeds, outside temp, everything and it just runs cooler.Mutiply days of mowing/bushhogging and I'm convinced its cooler. Only thing I can figure out is there is less friction in the trans for the engine to work against and thus it runs a noticable bit cooler. I'm pretty amazed at this. Your results my vary but I'm glad its got Super UDT every time I turn the key now. Worth the $$ to me. Tucky

Thanks for the input folks.

I am using the UDT and it works fine ...... I was just wondering who made the oil for Kubota.

There are only a handful of Co's that produce lubricants .... most are multilabeled for various brands and Co's. The same oil can sometimes be sold at 3-4 times the price ..... because of labeling and marketing.

Cheers!

Eric

I know that my HST failure was enough motivation to use only the best Kubota fluids. My "the farmers use it - it must be OK" theory on fluids was wrong.
Spelled H$T, that is..

I just had a mechanic for a Kubota/Case heavy equipment dealer come out and do my 50 hour service. He used Case Hy Tran Ultra for my B7800. He suggested they use that in all the Kubota's and Case equipment they sell and service. After watching him do the service I'll be doing my own servicing in the future. He also made the point that they often never see any of the Kubota equipment they sell because nothing every goes wrong.

I have heard that Premium UDT is Petro-Can's Duratrans. I assume it is semi snythetic and they do make a Duratrans XL that is fully synthetic. I am north of Winnipeg and see lots of -20 weather. Although I have never had a problem I will probably use th XL next time I change out the Hydro fluid. Shorter warmup times, but I love that pour point factor. Call me cautious.
