This topic is always guaranteed to elicit all kinds of responses and I doubt many minds get changed.
One point of contention tho, SUDT is superior to UDT in every aspect. SUDT meets ISO 46 whereas UDT doesn't.
SUDT has better heat handling properties as well as cold over UDT.
The advantage UDT has over SUDT is price and price alone.
Course if one believes that a straight weight (viscosity) oil has better heat handling properties than a multiweight theres not much convincing them of anything different, even when the specs and design perimeters of the oils show otherwise
(vist the oils forum for all the info you can stand on this )
The good news is that Kubota specs either for most of it's tractors so one has a choice in most cases as to how much they want to spend on an OEM recommended scheduled maintenance product. One works fine, another works better....
Kinda like Sears used to be, good, better, best (until that changed to smoke and mirrors)
Synthetic oils add a whole new deminsion to this debate
