Yukon, I feel ya man. I had two three series go bad on me and the dealer seemed to try to fix the problems. I traded the first one after the frame cracked at less then 50 hours and the second one stayed broke. John Deere corporate flat out lied to me on several occasions. I went to a lawyer and he said I had a good case but because it was farm equipment the regular lemon laws didn't apply. He said there was not enough money in it to justify taking JD to court so I was stuck and ended up trading again for a 4 series. This one seems fine but I took a beating. I can't say I will never buy another one but it'll be a hard sale. I have a thread on here you can check out. Maybe the dealer can give you some help on a trade, mine did. Sometimes its better to take the hit and move on.

Agco is the way. They have ruined massey ferguson. No one around here want one. Dealers play dumb like they can't understand why no one wants a Massey ferguson and the try theor sales pitch. It is sad what they have done to massey ferguson. John Deere and case-ih seem to be king around here

My favorite dealer's parts people know me by name.
THAT is exactly what I DON'T want!! To need so many parts for my tractor, the parts guy knows me by name!!

That deere dealer here will bone you in a heartbeat! 80 bucks for a u-joint for my hay rake, that a NH u-joint can be used (with washers to shim the caps) for less than 10 bucks!

I needed a small collar with a ramp on it, also for the same rake, that was $350.00 bucks! I built the old one up with weld and put it back in!

I forget what part I needed for a deere tractor one time, but it wasn't even available...and none at any other deere dealer either!

One time I was at a deere dealer, he had 5 tractors tore apart, all with rust holes in the sleeves, 5 at once!

It was at one of their deere day open houses... The theme of the show video was the loss of land from housing projects, they went on and on about it... Then they showed how they turned a huge acreage of farm land, into deere's very own "golf course"!!! lol lol

I guess THAT was OK, just don't build any houses there! lol

Waded through the 7 pages and did not read any comments from other 4066 owners. Some objections from 5E owners with the long-running brake issues (tongue-in-cheek....).

So, I'm left wondering is this issue just the problem of one owner with a "lemon" or a wider issue with the 4066 tractors?

Warranty engine replacement and warranty hydraulic retro-fit suggests a broader scope of problems with the latest 4000 series of tractors.

What are other owner's experiences? That's the basic strength of forum's like this one... Transfer of information and knowledge.

Consumers armed with that... Can make even "big boys" move!

I am surprised at all the people saying they are waiting on parts for their John Deere tractor. It's been many years but used to that was part of the advantage owning a JD. Any part was in stock or would be their the next day. This supported the big boys, buy even the small yard tractors got to piggyback on the system for excellent parts service
