Yep! I'd bet my own money that they have no idea how many G's the person in the sling experiences when they cut em loose. It isn't beyond belief that their neck could be broke. They are d*mn lucky one side didn't snap either...that would result in the "rider" getting pulled directly into the support pole.

Although it's not a good idea riding in the bucket, centrifugal force should keep you from going anywhere.

As for the girl on the sling, I'll bet it was doctored in the computer. That was a too much stretch and rebound to be believable.

I agree and I think they would have got more up and down action, not just straight back and forth. It would have slammed her into the ground I think.

Maybe Mythbusters could do a show on this. I'd love to see either Jamie Hyneman or Adam Savage in the sling!
Those wusses would probably just go the safe route and use a crashtest dummy first.
