Unconventional record keeping?

/ Unconventional record keeping? #21
I tear off the label of the filter and tape it to the back of my walk through door in my shop. I have a row for every vehicle and tractor. When I need new filters, I know exactly what I need. I also have another piece of cardboard with fluid types and quantities. For those things that take spark plugs, I have the gap written down for those.

I never thought to write it on the vehicle itself. Usually I like to bu my filters before I actually need them, or plan on installing them. I often park different things all over the place. My dozer is off in the woods right now, my small tractor is in the back part of my parking area, but out in the mud. If I want filters for it, I don't have to go look at it and walk through the mud. It's all taped to the back of my door.

I use a sharpie to write these things down.
