If you are not planning on a using a FEL, the BX is the tractor for you! I was in the same situation as you are now 7 years ago. I went with the BX and have been very happy with it, and I do have the FEL. Mowing is 90% of my tractor's use (it sounds like you will use your tractor the same way) and the BX is a better mowing machine than the B series.

Went through the same process as people here mentioned before. I ended up with the 7510 Turf Special (suspended mowing deck) primarily based on ground clearance, but I do use the FEL a good bit. I though they are very close in weight and HP but the 7510 will handle larger implements and a bit more in the FEL. I could probably get by with the BX too. I would say get the one that you can buy for less $$$. They will both handle the jobs you mentioned.

The larger tires on the B-series will make for a smoother ride and allow you to mow faster if your lawns are other than smooth and manicured. The smaller BX tires will jostle you to the point of discomfort on rough ground if you try to move fast.

Whether B-series or BX, removing and replacing the mower deck will be a chore without the help of the FEL. My friend with a BX24 has reverted to the FEL assisted mower R & R after initially thinking it unnecessary. As a dedicated mower, you won't have to R & R it often, but it'll be difficult to grease it properly on the tractor.

I mow 6 acres with a BX. Great mowing machine. I also plow a lot of snow with it. My driveway is long and the terrain is flat. Leads to drifting. But your snow needs sound minimal.

Ground clearance is my concern. You mention rocks. Depending on just what rock you mean I'd go with the B series.

My yard is flat. So the BX was an easy choice.

Thanks for all the comments. For now the new tractor is on hold. Last Thursday I went to a second Kubota dealer to see what they had to offer. Told the salesman what I currently have, a couple of reason for looking at replacing and what I have to mow. Two reason for replacing were an overheating issue with the B7100 and need to replace the mower deck. He advised me that there was no need for the B7100 to be overheating. He told me to pull the radiator and give it a good cleaning including taking it to a radiator shop for them to test. He told me that he would like to sell me a new tractor but didn't want to see me spend money that I did not need to. His instructions were pretty much what some other on here had told me to do. After removing the radiator I was very surprised to see how much the cores were blocked with dirt, dust, etc. This is even though I blow it out with air between each mowing. After putting things back together I mowed and feel that the overheating problem may be solved. I will be able to tell better about the overheating come next summer when the weather is hotter than this past week-end. The mower deck still needs a good go over and maybe just replaced.

Killer B-I remember you putting the B7610 up for sale. How much did you end up selling it for and what made you decide on the JD over a comparable Kubota? Did you start a new thread on that decsion?

Northland,

I sold the whole package for $13,600.00. That included the tractor with 325 hours, 60" MMM, BX2750 blower, front angle blade, quick hitch, and 48" Box Blade.

My reason for choosing the JD over the B3030 had little to do with brand. I was looking for something larger than the B3030, but smaller than the L series. The 3320 fits rather nicely between the two. Had Kub produced a tractor of that description I would have bought it just because of my (mostly) favorable experience with orange.

Now that I have had the green machine for 60+ hours I have to say that I do like it a lot. It seemed absolutely huge when I first got it. Now it seems just about right.

No, I did not start a thread on that issue.

Best regards,

KB

Killer B- I am happy to hear you are so happy with the new JD. Hopefully it wll be your last tractor for awhile.

It seems that you got a decent price for the B7610 with implements given the hours. Moreso I think the buyer got a great deal since I know you took care of the tractor and parts.

Have fun with the big Deere. It's a beauty!
