I think Power Trac should hear this and move the lights up under the canopy on any model so equipped. It is the most logical place for them

I agree.

My unit was delivered at night and the delivery trailer could not navigate my driveway (about 1300') so I had to make several trips up and down to get the attachments into the barn. The PT lights basically shined into what ever attachment I was carrying up. one of the first things I did was to move the lights up under the canopy. It is a simple job and makes a big improvement. I say simple because I just drilled two holes in the sheet metal of the canopy to mount the lights that I moved and ran a wire from the existing switch to them.

And the existing lights, just moved to the higher location are plenty bright enough, aren't they? I only added the extra set because I wanted to. Didn't need to, but it is fun /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks for the information on the bulb.
That was a shame to lose that much of a large tree, so many years of growth that came to an end.
I may try and take the two lights that came with the PT and move them up under the canopy. I don't do much night driving but your right about winter and the short days for snow plowing.
On another note, I tried your recommended method for setting the snow blade at an angle. It took a number of tries before I found the right combination of tilt and angle to get it level. Not a fast procedure but will improve with time and use.

Yes--it is only the placement that is a problem in my experience.

Funny thing about that tree was, there was a large sycamore planted right next to it. The original owner of the house planted them too close together, not realising how big both would get. They started to grow together and one of them had to go. The sycamore was closer to the garage and the pool and was causing the north west side of the pear to grow funny, so I removed the sycamore last year. The NW corner of the pear started to fill in nicely where the sycamore was removed. Then this happened to the north east corner of the pear. Grrr! So hopefully, the pear will fill in within a few years. Bradford Pears are one of my favorite trees. They just naturally have a beautiful shape, bright white blossoms in the spring, dark green leaves all summer and right now there are red leaves that will last well into the winter.

Glad you got the plow angle thing worked out. The more you use it, the more natural it will become. I put my mower away last week and put the plow on with it backed into the garage waiting for the inevitable /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif. However, the weather has turned incredibly mild, there are leaves on the lawn out back and I might use the hand held leaf blower and the plow tomorrow for one more leaf pickup. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Moss:

Did you ever think about drilling into the ROPS and running the wires up the ROPS tube and out to the lights?

I just strapped the wire to the ROPs pole with black tyewraps.

Yes, but I'm a little hesitant to do it. I just have a wire temporarily wraped up around the left upright until I decide what I want to do.
