Under water chainsaw

   / Under water chainsaw #11
Purchased at an estate sale two sthil chainsaws. The previous owner had these saws stored in a basement which flooded before the auction. The auctioneer annouced this before selling the saws. I bought both saws for about the cost of a chain. One saw pulled over and has good compression. After pulling spark plug and dumping water the second does also. Have spark on both engines. Besides changing oil and gas what should I do before trying to start? I have had both saws sitting outside on hot days. Thanks in advance for your much needed help.

I would worry as much about the grit and dirt in the bearings and piston surfaces as I would just the water. But for the price, soak it good in fuel and flush as much water and dirt out as possible before running it under its own power. Not much to lose.
