Smitty, Jack, Grass... I've started digging a hole up in the north forty and you know what going to be buried in it! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

( Anyway, overall what it is? Thumbs up, or thumbs down? )

Good question! In the movies we are led to believe that when Caesar pointed his thumb up, he meant for the defeated gladiator to live, but in reality the thumbs up indicated it was OK to kill him.

At this point I don't care where Ramon's thumb is pointing. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Seems like we discussed anything meaningful a long time ago, but here we go again perpetuating another Ramon49 thread with no end..........................

smitty, I've picked up full buckets of pea gravel with the L513 bucket. Breakout may be different, but I know I was below 2000 rpms and wasn't straining with the load.

I was on my tractor pretty much all day. I believe wet soil is so heavy that it kind of overloads the system. I got some heaped full buckets and the bucket would stop about 5 feet off the ground when it was that full. I also had the toothbar on.

I have a couple of pieces of I-beam 20' x 12" x 6" and it picked one of them up with no problem so I think it's okay.

The L3400 that I tried out in mid December would pick up the back end of the tractor if the stuff you were trying to pick was too heavy for it, such as a cedar tree that had fallen down. Something was going to give with that tractor.

I like the L3130 better because of the size and weight.

I looked at the fel spec's on the Kubota site.
Why is the breakout force for the LA723 greater than the 513? Are the cylinders bigger or what?

No doubt the cylinders are bigger. The 4 bar linkage may play a part in it as well. I know the dump/curl degrees is greater on the LA 723

Well I am the proud owner of an L3130HST. I do not have an FEL or a BH but I did not need them. I use the tractor with a 60" box blade and a 5' brush hog. My property is steep and hilly. When I first bought the tractor I mowed the entire property. The grass and weeds were taller than the hood of the tractor and was thick to day the least. I can mow up a steep hill in medium with the RPM's at about 2200. I find my self backing off the speed of the tractor because of rough terrain not because it is bogging down. I am always amazed at the power of this little beast. I have no idea what your problem is with the tractor. You either went into it expecting way to much or you have a lemon. I have a 03 Buick Rendezvous and it has turned out to be a POS. That thing has been in the shop more than I can count. We have finally decided to get rid of it and I can not wait until I wave goodbye to that thing. If I could only talk the wife into another L3130HST for her to drive to work in!!!!!!!

The leveling rod on my 3830 got caught up in the rod guide somehow and was destroyed the first week I owned it. I have never considered that some kind of indication of Kubota quality. Who cares, get a new one.

I have caught mine on branches a few times, I have pushed it back in shape and mine works beautifully. I used to think the leveling indicator was a toy, a joke, now I use it exclusively. If mine ever bites the dust, I will make my own. I have a bunch of seamless 4130 steel tubing I could use, stronger then heck.
