Wow - sobering! When mowing around my ponds I take the safety belt off, so if something like this happens a guy may have a chance- I'm too old to jump anymore. Did you have your belt on when it started to go in?

It's midnight here in western NY and I'm waiting for the storm to pass (actually it seems it's to the south of us). Anyways, I'm reading a post here and there to pass the time and see this! Wow! Now I probably won't sleep for another few hours!
Glad you're OK. Thanks for posting this; good reminder to always be alert for changing conditions and remembering safety first. I've said it before, but every time I read about one of these situations, it ingrains something on my wee little brain. Oftentimes when I'm out on the tractor I remember one of the lessons learned here and find a different/safer way to get the job done. So far, so good...

I would assume it's new sod. You roll it to get an even level ground and also to give the roots good contact with the soil.
