UNIMOG UPDATE.....The beast starts and runs!!

I just got back from Boston this week and had some time to work on the Unimog tonight. Well the mice really did a number on the wiring, so I had to bypass the whole electrical system. Changed the oil and filters and new fuel and filters. Put in a battery and after a few tries it fired over /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Boy did it smoke for a few minutes. The alternator is frozen so there was a bit of smoke from the belt. I have another one somewhere to replace it, just have to find it! Getting it running was one of the things that will help me decide what to do with it. I'll keep all of you posted! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
