Unknown bolt for MMM???

Hi Gang,

Yesterday I installed a new MWX 72" mmm on my DX33. All in all, it really wasn't that tough. The instructions...............they were ok, but could have been better. Seems like they have you install several clevis pins and cotter pins only to have you later take them out to adjust the "cushion lift" system and then put them back in again. Anyhow, I am looking forward to trying it out, but it rained last evening and the rain has continued all day today, maybe tomorrow.........

But first my question, I have one LEFTOVER bolt that does not seem to have a home??? This really scares me, but I have been through the instruction manual several times and I have been all over the deck and lift system. I just can't seem to find where it goes. At this point I am beginning to wonder if it even belongs with the kit. However, I checked off all of the parts on the packing list and it is listed there. The bolt is 3/8" X 3/4" long with a lock washer. The only bolts I have found on the deck that match this are for the "up-stops", but they were already installed from CASE-IH.

Again, I really don't know where this belongs and I hate to find out the "hard way" where it "should have" went. Anyone out there have any ideas or experience with this mystery bolt?

It sounds like the bolt that hold down the covers over the pullies on the blade spindles (on the top side of the mower deck)

Thanks for the reply. The bolts you mentioned are similar to this one, but they are flanged bolts and the head on this one is just "regular". The ones you mentioned don't have lock washers either.

I went back and double checked the ones you mentioned though, and they are all there. (They were already installed from the factory as well.)

extra bolt... they get tossed in from time to time...

Anyone out there have any ideas or experience with this mystery bolt?

.....While astronaut MacLean was removing a cover on a crucial rotary joint, a bolt disappeared into the void. Another bolt floated off during Tuesday's spacewalk.

hmmmm........space bolt lands in Indiana?......

Thanks for the reply. You know...............my original thought was "This bolt can't be that important, it's so small." But I think I like your "space bolt" idea better!
