1* Glad you liked it.RedDirt said:1*What a good photo documentation!
It took me a minute to realize it's best viewed in sequence from the bottom up.
2*That's a nice system you've got there.
Looks like it works so well I'm going to try it myself next time I have a dirt moving job.
3*What is the slide sheet made of? In the thumbnail it looked like carpet as it "S" curved off the trailer. When enlarged it looks like OSB. Odd that OSB could take such a double bend and stay together.
4*How much use do you get from a sheet before it fails?
LBrown59 said:4*Cant say as that was the first time I used it.
It's pretty weak at the 2 places it bent.
I'm thinking about trying 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 plywood and 7/16 OASB.
Also wondering how a piece of rubber horse mat or a piece of a rubber pick up bed mat would work.
*The only problem I see with a stiffer board that won't bend is it's going to come off the trailer with a thud.RedDirt said:Well keep us updated, ie how many dumps you get from the 1/4" OBS before it disintegrates. And the results of other materials you try next.
It is a good simple design and very much within reach of anyone with a no-dump trailer and at a very reasonable expenditure of time and money.
My little box trailer tilts so I think
* I might try 1/2" CDX ply to do some ditch cleaning/hauling that I'm likely to do this fall. If it comes to pass I'll let you know how it goes.
**Thanks for the good idea.
