Tires Unloading tires?

I would also be interested in knowing about how much weight it adds. 1000 lbs would be about 125g of water-type liquid, which seems kind of high to me. It is my understanding that the tires aren't filled all the way when they are loaded.

Anybody know how the corrosivness of CaCl compares to say, antifreeze?

Also wouldn't windshield washer fluid freeze if it got cold enough (say -20). Assuming they use the cheaper low alcohol content stuff anyway.

My tires are 13.9X28 and they holf 545 lbs of water without calcium in it. Antifreeze will not corrode your rims, Calcium Chloride sure will though. If you are worried about the toxicity of anti freeze, you can now get non toxic antifreeze.

With antifreeze and ww fluid you will not gain as much weight as with calcium chloride. Using antifreeze will cost a bit more than Calcium chloride but not much though. CC is running about 1.00 / LB here.

You could always use used anti-freeze. At our shop we have to pay $.85 per gallon to get rid of. I am sure you could check with some truck-tractor shops in your area and get it for free.

Sounds like it may be easier to trade them for unloaded tires.
Someone with unloaded tires that wants loaded tires.

Guess you could call that 'unloading' your tires as well. )</font>

LOL, that's good.

Gotta be close to 500. I can lift 300 with no problem and it was ALL I could do to get them up the ramp into my 1 ton dump (higher than a pickup). /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I can't help with an answer yet, but I do have a related question. I am picking up a new TC30 tomorrow with "unloaded" tires and a 7308 FEL. I will operate it some this weekend with a 490 lb. box blade as ballast. I have asked three different dealers how many gallons of fluid the tires will hold, and haven't gotten a good answer. The manual says the R4 tire is size 15-19.50. Has anyone learned what the tire will hold?

Follow this link for a chart on tire sizes, gallons and weight.

Thanks Slamfire...looks like a pretty aggressive setup. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I can see how that would add stability on the slopes... Those big lugs must give good traction in mud too.
