Watch this one and see what you think. Doesn't look like the operator ever bothered using the seatbelt. If nothing else, he sure was taking a chance at bending the loader or breaking something on the tractor.

Well, the PTO half shaft hanging off the back of the tractor is a big red flag in my book... if someone accidentally turns on the PTO there will be a 2' piece of steel flopping around at 540 RPMs until something breaks off... not a good thing to be around.

I agree on the PTO shaft as 1st in long line of supid ideas, if he used the chain that was attacked to quick hitch it looked like it would have put tractor on solid ground.
I would bet he will be 1st complaining the bucket was to light and that loader was cheap junk.

I believe WOWNUT summed it up perfectly.

If anyone sees this tractor and/or Land Rover show up on Craig's List, I suggest that they pass on buying these vehicles due to the inDUHviduals that currently own them.

Yeah....... where do you start?? Thankfully, he has half of the PTO shaft on the back for ballast. He has a length of chain on the back that would give him enough reach to turn around and pull from the rear of the tractor...... and it appears he would be on more solid ground at that point. He backs up and jerks the tractor almost putting it on it's side. Obviously not an intelligent person in the bunch there.

that is some brutal on the vehicle too. Many time when in a situation like that I will uncrurl the bucket and get good tight tension and then curl it up, giving more pull power and allot less yanking.
Was that maybe a beer I saw also?

I saw many no no's, all caused by operator, really laughed when I saw the shaft hooked to the back. As far as the seat belt goes I don't care for them either. I'd rather take my chances and jump from a tipping machine then be straped in for the ride. IMO seatbelts are way over rated.

So what. He learned it wasnt going to work that way and stopped to explore other options. Level ground. Quick enuf on the controls. The only way he would have been near turning over is if the fronts wernt on solid base below the mud.

If the operator was the owner of the tractor I would have to say that the saying "more money than brains" would apply nicely.

I would rather take my chances wearing the seatbelt, thank you. Is your operator station somewhat cramped up like a lot of tractors are? If so, did you ever stop to think what might happen if you went to jump (God forbid you should ever have to) and your foot got caught in the gears or the steering wheel or something?? There you would be hanging halfway out of the operation station with it going over. Not a pretty thought in my mind. But, you have the right to operate your equipment however you chose to, at least until Uncle Sam steps in!!

I have been way too gentle with my 3320.

Funny how some things get shoved into our lifes without actual solid proof of how they really help or don't. Just like with seatbelts in a car or helmet laws{don't worry I wear them don't want a ticket from the KGB}. I have known a person were the seatbelt actually caused their death.

Each accident is different in it's own way the shoulda coulda laws and thoughts won't change the outcome. I'm not saying seatbelts are bad but how many lifes have they really saved??? No way to really tell because accidents are just that with no perfect solution/ending to what will happen. No 2 accidents are EVER the same.

With your thoughts about getting a leg caught or something well what happens if you end up trapped because of the seatbelt.....under water/mud etc??????? I'm not saying your wrong nor can you say I'm wrong. I have been around heavy equipment all my life and have even had to jump from old tractors{no rollover protection}. I understand that we all would love to have the perfect safety equipment, but my question is what is the perfect safety protection??? is there really such a thing?

I am surprised the chain did not snap, Lunk Head Central. Did they ever get the rover out of the mud?

Looking at the video again in slow motion, the tractors operator is not using 4wd, although 4wd is not going to help that much. The rover looks to be dug-in to its axles, the only way out being planks under each wheel.

I always tug a Land Rover out of a swamp by using a REALLY long chain and getting a huge running start in forward. After doing this 20 - 30 times, you can usually reassemble these pieces of crap back into something worth towing to a junk yard.

Was that license plate clearly visible? A beer in the hand of the video camera operator? Posted on the internet ....

Oh, the information that can be garnered ....

Again, just too stupid to watch!

All the libs are so wound up about the "ur gonna put an eye out" stuff, you missed the one vital piece of info in this video that proves it a fake to get your blood pressure up beyond the safety valve limit........

Land Rovers don't get stuck! (or so the propaganda says)

I'd have backed up the rover as close as possible and put a chain from hitch (did it have one?) to lift arm, applied up force, and tried it that way. More traction for pull and less stiction from the 'Rover.

This brings back the memory of having to call my future father in law at 1am on a school night because my 17yo bride-to-be was sitting in my s10 blazer with mud coming in through the glove compartment, which was tide to another s10, which was tied to a Mazda, which was tied to a K1500, and all were a wee bit stuck. "Umm, Lynda's not going to be home tonight."

Stuck!

PTO shaft supported by a chain, snap that chain and get a link imprint on your forehead, seatbelt, beer, oh well, it coulda been worse. Why not just lift each end of the vehicle and put something under the wheels?
