My dad has a 1988 JD 285 lawn tractor with the kawasaki liquid cooled engine and I walked into my local JD dealer asking for the breather hose that connects to the carb and they had one in stock. That is the power of JD. they support their products with the price that goes along with it. I have heard stories of kioti front axle parts failing and not being available. although my dads tractor has the plastic cam gear so when it blows that is one part that is no longer available even in the aftermarket so I guess they all have the same problems

So when I fractured a steering knuckle on my 1988 Jd 750, they wanted $460 for a part that could lay on your fingers and still see your pinky.
That’s also a power of JD.

You’re correct! If anything then was like today, there are about 4 different keys for an entire line.
In those days one could buy two for almost 2/3rds of what one cost today.
Back then l did buy the 750 and a 950 for less than 22k.

My normal statement is "shop the dealer!"
As long as the dealer has a solid reputation for parts and service, it really doesn't matter if it sells one or two brands. *M7* dealer sells Kubota and IH-Case. They service both well and stock parts to provide for both. The local Kioti dealer also sells NH and a variety of implements/accessories. They have a stellar reputation as well.
If you're not hung up on a brand, chase down the dealer reputation and that will make you far happier for a longer period of time.

If you go with kioti I would stay within the NX/DK Series, with kioti you will have more tractor for your money, if you are planning to sell it in the future John deer hold a better resale value. You can wait longer for parts with Kioti but they have a great engine.

There was a local Kioti dealer a half hour from me. This was 6 years ago when I was shopping for a second tractor. About a month after I got a price quote, the dealer switched to selling Mahindra. Now the place is a hardware store.

Kioti seems like a decent tractor, but I'm glad I didn't buy one. The closest dealer is now 2.5 hours away.

Of course this won't happen everywhere, but it's something to think about.

I've got a 2012 CK30, bought new, FL, 6ft finish mower, 900 hrs. Other than switch key going bad, I've never had an issue. My dealer is 40 min away but I've never needed any service, doing all the fluids myself. I know this doesn't help you decide and not pushing Kioti over any other. At the time I bought this I looked at Deere and Kubota but the CK30 (about 28hp I think) just felt right to me. Seems to me you can't go wrong with the Deere if it feels good when u drive one.

To your question regarding: Kioti dealer selling multiple brands vs JD being a dedicated dealer…Are you comfortable with all your eggs in one basket? Granted JD has been around for more than a few years but anything can happen… same kinda thing with Kioti, they have been around for years although they’re a relative newcomer to the states…

If you’re anything like me; you buy JD and when it breaks you kick yerself for not going Kioti… buy Kioti and break it… dang… shoulda splurged on the JD…
