Someone private mailed me here asking if I were interested in a G194. I asked for more info on it, price, hours, condition, maybe send a couple pictures ect... but never heard back from them, they were in CT, about a 5hour drive for me.... I was told a G174 would fit in the back of a full size PU but I would think a G194 would need a trailor....probably a heavy duty trailor at that. I have to keep in mind my tractor shed is small only 8' X 12' with a 6' X 6' door. I've been looking around here it seems larger tractors can be bought cheaper than small ones alot of full size tractors around here.

I don't think my old G174 would fit in the back of the truck. If it will, I sure wouldn't want to drive it up there....Heck, I didn't even like drving it up the tilt bed trailer (5x8) that I had.....

if it will fit, it will be tight tight fit and probably go over the wheel wells.....

When I had my G174 it fit right in my Dodge's 8' bed-with the tailgate up. They are nice little tractors-not much larger than a garden tractor-but wayy more machine for the size.

Yes I was told the G174 would fit in a full size PU. I have bought all the want adds around here, no Bolens/Iseki tractors about the closest thing I found is a deere 670 but they are asking $11,000 for it, has front loader and mowing deck but that is way more than I can afford. The price is what attracted me to the G174, appears you can get $11,000 perfromance for around $4,000 +/- with the G174. You guys in PA and midwest have all these nice little tractors.

Ray. I have attached two pictures of my G194. Like I said earlier it has oversized turf tires on the rear. It's overall "footprint" is 5 feet wide and 8 feet long. Not counting the rear mower. The man I bought it from is in the one picture, this should give you an idea of its size too. The tires on the rear accounts for the extra foot in width compared to ag tires. Not a monster of a machine but a real sweet little machine.

1*The Murray is just not heavy duty enough for this property,
2* would I be better off with something smaller like a cub cadet?

Hello first post trying to plow this large lot, not heavy enough. I fear adding weight to it would only put more strain an the weak transmission in this tracktor, another thing that aggrivates me .

1*You're rite you need something more than a yard ornament for your new place.
2*If you look at CC you need to go with a 2500 or 3000 series.
I got a new 2500 with a 54'' deck last Sept for $3500 or $5050 with a Front Blade rear tiller and AG rear tires thrown in.

elalexander that is a sweet looking tractor. Do they make a 50" belly mower for it? That tractor with the rear mower has to be over 12' my Murry has a 48" deck on it and I have 2' of spce on each side of it and with the snow plow on it I have about 4 extra feet of length in my tractor shed, the shed is actually an addition I put on the back of my shop last fall. 12'x8' door opening is 6' wide 6 1/2' high

LBrown59 I had thought of a cub cadet, went to Lowe's and looked at them, but I'm thinking I would like to go deasil, also 4x4 as I have a steep grade that goes up the front of our home and around the side, the 2wd Murry just spins it's tires trying to go up it, even with tire chaines on it spins and digs holes, I would also like to be able to use a snow plow for our good size lot here. The Murry pushes the snow as long as I don't let it get over 4". Only reason I bought the Murry was it was there, only $500 with snow plow 48" deck and snow blower, it got me through last summer and still going as of now but it is a weak machine, every time I use it I hold my breath and hope nothing breaks. The snow blower was a laugh it is a single stage, first time I tried to use it on first snow storm it plugged up instantly and broke the belt.

Rayl. Don't know about a belly mower for it. The 5 foot woods does just fine. And yeah its 12 feet (+/-) with it on the tractor. Hope this helps you. Good luck looking, that's half the fun when you finally find the one you want.

3*I would also like to be able to use a snow plow for our good size lot here.
4*The Murray pushes the snow as long as I don't let it get over 4".

1*You need to visit a CC dealer and look at the 2500 and 3000 series models These are the real Garden tractors. Places like Lowes and Home D pot don't carry or sell them. What you saw at Lows is The CC version of the Murray you already have.
2*That because it's a lite duty light weight lawn tractor - The CC 2500 and 3000 series tractors are Garden Tractors. Garden tractors are heaver duty & weigh more than lawn tractors. The extra weight makes for better traction.
[ you say The 2wd Murray just spins it's tires trying to go up it, even with tire chains on it spins and digs holes,} I assume that's on dry ground. If so I'd say my CC2554 without chains or added weight does better in 4'' of snow than the Murray does on dry ground.
The reason chains don't help your Murray is because it's 2 lite and the chains simply lift the tractor up every time a cross chain comes in contact with the ground.
For chains to do any good there has to be enough weight to make them dig in and stay on the ground.
3*A front Blade on a decent GT with chains and extra weight will move/push a lot of snow. I done a lot of that with my old Bolens set up like that.
I've cleared 6 8 10 and 12 inch snows with it. I have no doubts about being able to do the same thing with the CC GT2554.
4* I just told you how much more snow a garden tractor will push than a lawn tractor will .>>

Rayl. Mr Brown is correct. A garden tractor is much heavier built then a "riding mower" and most can at least except some ground engaging implements. Larger more expesive ones have 3 pt. hitchs and pto's. And yes you are correct in saying the smaller ones cost more then the bigger ones. Supply and demand I guess. Keep looking and doing your homework, your on the right path and this group will share some great advice. EL
