update on 8N 19\" rims

I just installed the 19" rims i found ( at great expense unfortunately ) for my 8N.

I brought the wife out there to look at the N.. but she couldn't tell the difference, and thought I was crazy to switch from 5.5x16 to 4x19... when she couldn't tell a difference. I tried to explain the originality issue.. but lost her about three words in.

Anyway, here are 2 pics.

Re: update on 8N 19\" rims

Maybe you should have put the old tire next to the 19",so your wife could have notice??

I for one can see the differents..kinda gives the front end a beefy look now..how does she handle in third gear..do you feel rougher ride or bouncing, plus steering into a corner?

Re: update on 8N 19\" rims

Incredibly, those were the exact commnets that the 8N owners had when we rolled their pet tractor outa the shop with 6.00 X 16's that were mounted on wheels made from welding the 19" centers into the auto rims: "She shore looks beefy with them big tars on 'er don't she!" It usually improved handling if the steering was kind of worn out. Actually, if the truth were known, they did work better with the 19" tires in row crops. I've learned that wives occasionally seem to miss the significance of these little engineering changes.
