Update on all 7520s

Dave - These guys here seem quite intelligent and I believe I've read more than a few times that they have attempted to get some attention from Mahindra on this issue. Having called and written to Mahindra on other issues myself, I know how hard that can be. If you can do those ML275 lift speed tests you talked about with your new 7520 and 6520 machines, you would be doing a great service to those guys and would once and for all resolve the issue on whether or not those two hydraulic pumps/pump capacities (i.e., 6520 vs. 7520) are the same or, in fact, different. That alone would be a giant step toward solving the mystery. You and the other dealers here on TBN do all of us Mahindra owners a tremendous service. We cannot thank you enough. Where the factory falls down, you guys fill the gap. I'm not sure Mahindra would be such an attractive brand if you gentlemen were not around.

I just went out and tested a 7520 4WD on our lot. I let it run for about 10 min. ran the rpm's at 2100 and it lifted to full height in 6 seconds flat.

This just can't be correct, a tractor that specs out better than the specs? Now I,m thinking that my tractor really is as good as I thought it was. Now I am going to have to test mine just to see for myself. Is it possible that these are actually better than advertised? Do we have super tractors here?
We need more confirmation, come on Dave, it's lunch time, it can't rain all day.

Hey y'all,
I just timed the 6520 4WD on my dealers lot. It would be mine if it had the skid steer option. I warmed it up for a minute, as it is 77 degrees out side, cranked it up to around 1650 rpm and timed the loader raise. I didn't rev it higher because the fuel guage was sitting on E. It took under 6 seconds to raise the loader to max height. Now I will be pissed if my 6520 doesn't do this. This is better than any spec I have seen in print or online. But it sure makes me wonder if someone is putting on pumps that look alike, but are different in GPM and this 6520 has a 17 GPM pump!
It is just as bad with the 6520 4Wd weight. The sales broucure says 7300 pounds. The Ops manual says 6515 pounds. A 785 pound difference. When someone (me) is trying to peg down towing weights, these conflicting figures throw everything out the window. Does anybody know how much the ML275 weighs?

OK, I about froze and someone owes me a Starbucks Grande Mocha...but here is what we have:

7520 4wd with ML275. 2500 rpm - 5.38 seconds, 1500 rpm - 8.29 seconds.

6520 4wd with ML275. 2500 rpm - 8.18 seconds, 1500 rpm - 12.43 seconds.

These are tractors that idled at 1500 rpm for 20 minutes before the test. Both are current machines. Both were significantly slower (but not timed) when cold. I'd say the 7520 time is impressive, as the 1500 rpm speed is real usable with all the torque this monster produces. As someone mentioned, at 1500 rpm the tractor is just loafing, but will pull a house of it's foundation, therefore most of us would use the loader at this rpm, +/- 300 rpm. The 6520 time beats specs a little also, but in my opinion is a little slow at the lower RPM. An experienced operator with a lot of loader work will be waiting on it a little an will have to bump up the throttle.

Also keep in mind that unless you are loading a truck, you often lift the loader from the ground to perhaps 3 feet, then carry it and dump it. It takes less than 2 seconds to lift it that far. If you need it faster...you are in too big of a hurry.

Brandi, that 6520 must have the 7520 pump...you'll want to grab that one. On weights, it looks to me that they are identical tractors, except for the engine and tires, where they differ slightly. rback33 will have to give us a weight on the loader, but I'd say either 6520 4wd or 7520 4wd with loader will weigh between 8500 and 9000 lbs. Add weights and fluid and you can get to 5 tons. Nice round number, Mountain Ranch has his real heavy like that.

Excellent... thank you Dave! I'll have to owe you the latte until my lottery win comes in! Finally we have side-by-side, current production, "new and clean" benchmark tests which tend to support the currently published specs on both the tractors and the ML275 loader including the fact that there is a clear difference in performance between the 7520 and the 6520 (although Brandi's post... together with Larry's rumor suggest this might be changing?).

Nothing more satisfying than an accurate side-by-side test. Of course, this doesn't help Larry and Billy to solve their lift speed problem... but it does show that it is not a design flaw or spec error. If not an assembly, maintenance or wear problem, that kinda leaves them with manufacturing flaws and/or faulty pumps.

Brian, blue paint slows things down considerably. Problem solved.

CuzPat, we have some good numbers now from several people. If your loader isn't close to that, it needs fixed, and your dealer should be happy to be involved.

Good news! Thats what it should do, since 17GPM would do stop to stop in 5.2 sec. Mine takes between 8 & 9 sec to do a 22.5 extension on the cylinders, which is only 22.5/24 of the full travel. CuzPat, your dealer should clean those couplings in the suction line. This is a messy job and will be covered under the warranty. Im going to get mine to do it while it is at the shop for the engine warranty repair work.

On the weight, I was just referring to the 6520 4WD. The weights in the sales brocure and the Ops manual are 785 pounds different.
