Tractor
B21 - TLB
Well unfortunately I am not a tractor owner! I would like to thank everyone for all their advice that helped in making my decision. I did not get a real good chance to try out the tractor because the dealer showed up early Sat. morning. I did have time to get some input from friends that had more knowledge in what to look for than me. Here are some reasons on why I did not purchase this tractor. When I left the dealership I thought I was buying a 1996 b20 with approx. 800 hrs. for $12,500. Pretty good Deal. Then when it is delivered I am told it is a 1992 with maybe 1200 hrs. When I have a friend come over (who makes a living on a tractors) tells me he believes there is well over 2000 hours on the tractor. Then I learn from this forum it is a 1991. This whole tractor deal just didn't give me that warm fuzzy feeling! So now the search goes on. I was thinking it is time for MarkV to treat himself to a new tractor and pass his B21 down to me. What do you think? Good idea? Well anyway going thru this experience I know when I spot another tractor that will meet my needs(MarkV's B21) I think I have a better understanding in what to be checking out and I also have a place to go if I think there is anything questionable. I will keep you up to date until the day I purchase a tractor. Thanks again to all of you(and this forum) for making me more knowledgeable on tractors.

Most people here would rather see a well informed non-owner than an unhappy owner.......

Kurt,
Good call. BTW, when you do get the B21 you will never look back. I also think its worth waiting for a B21 vs a B20.

Kurt,

Sorry it didn’t work out this time. I think you made the right choice. There were to many questions and not enough answers with that tractor. Being sold in 91 it is very likely that there were many more than 1200 hours on that unit.

Now if you would like to stop over and have a chat with the misses about that new tractor, maybe we can work out something on the B21. Who knows, you might have better luck than me. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
