Well, I feel like Kerry, kinda doing the flipflop... I saw some pictures of Kens R4944, dug through the Montana website (had to go in and look at it like a folder) and found some info, just a bit of info, but this R series is wooing me back. It looks reallly, really well designed. I found a dealer about 70 miles away who seems to be in it for the long haul, and I had some great posts to my last thoughts. So I may be back in the Montana fold. Kubota / Deere offer me two things. Local support with a huge network, and a high resale value. I do not intend to sell this tractor so that is out. Also, the Dealer out in Astoria (Ag-Bag) informed me that Montana is going to put up a local distribution building like TYM and I am sure there will be a local Montana dealer again soon.
TYM is a high second, except I feel I need close to 40HP to go up and down my hills. They do not offer Hydro in that range.
I do worry about Montana not supporting its dealership. While local dealers are great, having to wait on the main unit to fulfill odd parts orders will really be a pisser. Hopefully these types of grumblings won't fall on deaf ears, and they will step up to the plate.
