I recentlly sold my BX23 and have a have a slightly used B3030 with a Woods 7' groundbreaker-x BH, LA 403 FEL and Woods 60" Box Blade being delivered in a couple of weeks. Since I ordered the B3030 from a dealer without test driving it, does anyone have experience with both and can tell me the kind of improved performance I should expect?

Thanks

To say at the least you'll be suprised. You will enjoy the middle range for most all work as you will find the things that you were limited to low range for you can do them with higher speed and easier to control wheel spin in delicate situations. The added weight and heft from the loader will also be a plus. I'm not that familiar with the woods backhoe but I hear they aren't that bad but do check the bolts on the subframe to keep it tight so not to hurt the tractors chassis.

I have put 45 hours on it since July. Most of the hours have come from putting in a yard at our home, digging out rocks with the loader, hauling rocks, dirt, & gravel w/ the loader, and pulling a landscaping rake and an old bedspring with weights on it for a drag. For all of those tasks it has plenty of power, and to me it seems to operate very smooth. I also finally got to use it just lately to clear 4 inches of snow off the drive. I just used the bucket, but I was doing about a 50 yard push so the bucket was full pouring out the sides heading uphill (a fair slope) with glare ice underneath from all the warm cold weather we've had lately. I put it in 4 wheel drive low gear running about 2000 to 2200 RPM and there was no problem at all clearing the drive. For me it seems to more than enough power, and it operates smoothly. I have to say I love the cab also, keeps you warm when it is cold keeps you cool when it is really hot, the heater and AC work great. The only down fall with the cab is you can't hook up a backhoe to my knowledge. So there is a sacrifice with the cab. Now I also want to tell you about the few things I have noticed on the more negative side, but I want to note that I wouldn't let either of them stop me from buying the tractor as they are quite minor in my opinion. The seat is not great, you seem to slide forward on it. This talked about in many threads, and there are ways mentioned in the threads to easily fix that. If I were you, I would tell the dealer that you won't buy it without them replacing the seat, because they should know by now it is an issue. Otherwise you can always buy a new seat or shim it up as some guys have done in the Kubota owning and operating forum threads. My last concern with the tractor is I live on a slight hill, and the B3030 seems to have a little bit of a high center of gravity for using it on inclines. However, from what I have gathered from others on these tractor forums is that it is common for almost all of the small tractors. That being said I do love my B3030 and it works great for me. I would also be interested to hear some testimony's from other B3030 owners to get their pros and cons on the tractor, and get their take on the stability of the 3030 on inclines as opposed to other tractors. So if anyone else out there has one please drop SJM1580 a note, as I am a fairly new B3030 owner and would not want him to only get my opinions seeing as I am not an expert. Sorry that got so long winded.

You cant add a KUBOTA BH if you have a cab. Bushhog and Woods both make BH's to fit them perfectly. I "think" ( no one can tell me for sure though) its a deal with the "subframe" plcing the Kubota BH too close to the cab. With the aftermarket BH's the subframe lets it sit just far enough back for clearance.

My farmer buddy just went thru all of this when he ordered a new GrandL 5030 with cab. NO Kubota BH. And the dealer recommended to him that since he was going to add a Wood BH..to forget the Kubota FEL and go with the Woods FEL because the hyd hookups would be much better. ( and the Woods FEL will lift about 1000 lbs more..???)

Sounds like a great tractor.
I have a B2910 (previous model to B3030) with BH. It has a 90" reach.
The 7' woods only has a 84" reach. It always seems that I need a few more inches of reach when I am using the BH. Unless there is a specific reason for going with the 7' model. Go with the Kubota BH75 or Woods 8' model.

Yeah I agree, it is better to have the extra depth, and I considered it, but when I have run into situations when I needed to go deeper, i just bench down a few feet and get on with it.

Thanks for the input

Bx23 to B3030 = ford escort to chevy tahoe!:D :D

So what's my 2230? A Chevette? Or perhaps an Omni? A 1500 must be a Yugo.

Actually, maybe a Yugo was a bit nicer than a Chevette. Wife's first car was a Chevette. It had actual, honest to God, bulletholes. They were in the back quarter not far from the gas tank. That was before she met me. I actually test drove a Yugo as a poor college student. Ever driven one? Steering wheel sat like a bus. Or a tractor, come to think of it. Sat about 45 degrees to the road. Really a retarded car.

Kidding about the whole thing, really. Wish I could have gotten a B series and not look like a moron in my neighborhood. Just a little bigger and oozing with power. I get enough stares with the BX.
