I am upgrading my tiller and looking for feedback/reviews. I don't find much on the web. I have approximately 5 miles of tilling between the rows of shelter belts to do. I have been using a King Kutter 72" for the past 6 years. It has worked well, but I am adding a lot of trees this spring and it is time to upgrade. I was using a John Deere 1520. I have upgraded to a Case Farmall 75c.

I am looking at the Landpride RTA 3576. It is a 76" tiller. A friend of mine just bought a John Deere 681. This is an 81" tiller. The John Deere is very heavy duty. I haven't had a chance to actually see the Landpride.

Going to a wider tiller will mean less passes in the rows. My Case is about 76" wide, so both will cover the tracks.

Any thoughts or advise would be welcome. Also other options to look at would be good. Thanks-Jon

If your tractor's transmission is anything like the JX1075 predecessor you should have a handful of gears that would be appropriate for the Deere 681 tiller. I have a 673 tiller 6' very similar which has been bullet proof, I really like it. I would have chosen the 681 had I known more when I bought mine new in 2009. The extra width would have been nice to have..

The 681 should be a good match with your tractor.

I have a lot of hours on my Bush-Hog branded tiller with no problems.I have tons of rocks so just leave the discharge shute wide open.Purchased it new in 2005,it's a little beat up but nothing has broke.I do about ten acres of food plots a year.

Thanks for the feedback. My friend that has the 681 has basically the exact same tractor as I do. His is New Holland, so just blue instead of red. His tractor does well with this tiller. The tiller looks really heavy duty. I just bought a Landpride RTB 3596 rear blade and I am really impressed by the quality and build on the blade.

It would be a little easier for me to get the JD as there is a dealer in the little town I live in and they would deliver it.

Anyway I won't be getting it for a few months, so I have time to do a little comparing.
