Mowing Use 49 for 5' deck mower

I have a good working 49 B. I use my old 50 MH to pull my mower. But I wanted to change over and start using my B. ? is would my B handle a 5' deck mower for 6 acres about 5 times a year? Granted that I am going to put a slip clutch on the non live pto and make sure everything is oiled and running well.

The numbers would say that your 50 is about forty percent stronger than your B. I guess it boils down to how well the 50 handled the mower and if you can absorb the cut in power/weight. A lot also depends on how tough the going is.

My 50 has a problem with the hydrolic and I am retiring her in about two years once I can buy something new. But until then I only am cutting weeds and grass. Luckly my 50 is set about 5 inches off the ground.
My B is on the higher end of the B power out put. I'm not trying to compare the two tractors. I just wanted to see if my B would be able to do the job; considering that they did not have hydrolic deck mowers back then to pull on the PTO.
I know that I would not do 40 acres with it. But I will probably only do an acre or two at a time. I burn out after that. I love going back and forth. But I need a beer and a sandwich.

I might be going out on a limb here but the later model B could most likely do it. We had a Deere H and an Allis Chalmers WD when I was a kid and that H had more guts for its size than any tractor that comes to mind. Pure lugging power, small as it was. If your B is similar, I wouldn't be surprised. The WD would only have been slightly larger (around 30's hp) than your late model B and it handled 5 feet of anything with ease.
