Can I mount a tow hook on my 7TL loader bucket that has quick attach? I just normally use it for lifting but have used one on my other tractor for pulling trees that I have cut down when they get stuck on another, I like being able to an eye on the tree as not to get injured.

All of my buckets have hooks on them, and every tractor I have owned has had them. I don't see why yours can't have some too! :)

A tow strap on the bucket is not going to hurt the bucket but it could damage the operator if the tow strap breaks and comes flying back at you. If I were to use the FEL to drag an object back while using a chain, (I would only use a chain and not a nylon strap due to the kinetic energy stored in the stretchy material ) I would keep the bucket on the ground in float position or at least very near the ground so any flying straps would be below the operator platform.

As for mechanical failure of the QA system, There is no issue there. It is stronger than any force that the tractor can produce. One does have to make sure that a limb or other object does not hang on the release handle and pull them up. If this happens, you can damage the FEL badly by springing one of the main beams when the bucket comes off one side.

I only use chains, never fast and have chain tight before really starting to pull. Most of the time it is used to help lift something at home but I do use it to pull down stuck trees after cutting (not big trees) my real concern was the QA if it could hold against the pulling,
Thanks

My only concern would be the FEL arms if you pull too hard with wheels. Hydraulics-only would cut off before any damage can occur. But when being driven by wheels, you can do damage. It's mainly a concern when people over-do it while using the FEL as a bulldozer. But I can see the same issue happening in reverse if pulling from the FEL with a chain. So be careful.

My son just damaged the loader arms pulling down a stuck tree (busted a bolt and put a bend in the support mount). It was on an old Kubota L245DT. I think the tow bar below the PTO is a better option.
Just for your amusement, the one bolt is $85 at the Kubota dealer.

Here is a pic of what I use. Lots of options this way.

this about covers it. The ball hitch can be turned over so hook is on top. I don't use the FEL for anything but lifting and pushing. I haven't used the hook yet, but it's there if I need it.

I like the 3 point option and will look into those too

Honestly, when pulling with anything you should use a chain AND a strap. Chain to pull, strap to wrap around the chain and catch it should it break... I don't care if it is a huge chain and tiny load, anything can get weak over time and eventually snap. It only needs to happen once to end your life as you know it.
