I suggest you buy a tractor equipped the way you need it to start with. With a large down payment or a minor amount financed is your choice, but it is cheaper to get it right the first time, that should include the fel and a full hydraulics option package.

I have a 4520 cab tractor and have been very satisfied with it.

4520 is plenty on this platform. Include them in your search you won't be disappointed in one.

I would not buy the 4720 from the home builder, they've done used it like a dozer and it's a headache waiting to happen.

Adding rear remotes is easy on these and a dealer ( or you ) installed option. They only come from the factory with 1 and 2 which are the mid mounts controlled by the loader joystick.

I too would avoid the 4720, tractors are not dozers, and this one is likely to be abused.

Buy the loader with the tractor originally. You will get a package deal that will cost you significantly less than buying separately. On my Kioti, for example, it would have cost me exactly the same to buy the tractor without the loader as with the loader.

I'd go with the lease tractor with R3s, adding a loader. On the remotes, if you don't plan to use them, don't add them. Otherwise, they're easy to install.

Finally, why are you only looking at JD? You haven't mentioned the electronic goodies of the 4R series as incentives, so why limit yourself. They're many other good brands out there that have equivalent machines for many thousands less. JD is almost always at the top of the market in price, but not necessarily in quality.

I have a 4720 and really like it. Based on what you have said stay away from the R3's. For the price difference and not really knowing what /how the 4720 was used I would avoid it as well. Keep looking if you do not want to go new but my recommendation is stay away from the R3 4066 and the 4720. A new tractor with 2 hours should be eligible for the 0%. Maybe try another dealer.
As the others have said there are other brands. You should consider them maybe you have. The reason the 4720 is so high is because Deere's keep their value, not all brands do as well. Keep that thought in your decision process.

If I was in your shoes I would get the 0% if you go with a new tractor. A new tractor should have it available. Pencil out the cost and see what 0% really means in the long run to your bottom line vs paying cash.

Welcome to TBN!

In case you haven't explored pricing yet, buying the FEL after-the-fact will almost always wind up costing you significantly more money in the long run....just the way it is.

Assuming the area I put in bold, why not look at a functional equivalent that is new, will do the job equally well, has a better warranty, and costs less money? Something like a new Kioti NX6010 Cab/HST with the FEL is going to run you around $35-36K with all the options added in. For what you're doing, the 5hp difference at the PTO isn't going to make any difference.

Agreed. The Deere 4066R was $20,000 more last year than the Kioti NX6010 that I purchased and I like the cab layout of the NX series the best of all the tractors I looked at in the class (Massey MF1758, Kubota L6060, Deere 4720, and Mahindra 6010).
