I've come across a used B2630 being sold for 9000.00- never had a loader on it. Was just used to pull heavy items around on relatively smooth surfaces. Has about 700 hours on it. Good price? What kinds of questions would you ask? Thanks all.

A loader will add another $3000 or so to the price so $12K is a good price. However it has a lot of hours on it and I would want to see maintanence records. I'd also want to know what year it is and check the condition of the tires and overall tractor.

Someone on TBN just bought a B7800 with new Woods FEL with 90 hours on it from a dealer in Michigan. He paid $10800 + $700 to have it shipped to him. I think it was a 2005 or 2006 model.

I guess that's one of my questions. Is 700 hours when just pulling some things around a lot of hours for a diesel tractor? Certainly getting maintenance records is a good idea. How many hours could one expect to get out a Kubota diesel?

If it was pulling twenty plus foot long boats all day you might have a problem if the transmission wasn't serviced but I'd still doubt it. It should be broken in by now and there is still plenty of life by tractor standards of 50 to 100 hours a year.

My wife bought our B2910 with 60" MMM and 320 hours for $9900 from an individual. It was spotless, always shedded, always rinsed off after use. Had only ran the MMM and very occassional hitch work. Here's some pics for reference.

Well, here's some more information on the used tractor- I saw it today. It's being sold by a dealer after he rented it out for two summers to one organization. He's checking to confirm maintenance history. He estimates about 45% tread remaining on front tires and about 85% on rears- he attributes this to lots of turning on concrete surfaces. Tractor has some dings and dents that really surprised me given the reported usage- I guess when it's not yours you don't care?!? Lots of paint scrapes also. It wouldn't start so dealer said it needs to be charged. Opinions and price/concession ideas?

If I leased/rented a piece of equipment knowing that it wasn't really mine and that I was paying plenty of money up front just to have it parked at my place and I could save several hundred dollars by skimping on service and those dents and dings and scratches are just considered normal wear and tear.....

I would ask to see a nicer tractor. :D

Did you find out the year? Personally, I'd pass on this unit. I think you could find something in very good condition for the money.

Sounds like the kind of wife many men would love to have, one with the pluck to go out and make a good tractor purchase. :)
