Trailers hold their value good. You’re not going to buy one that’s not crap for 40-60 percent.

Its not an OTR trailer. Its a trailer used on a farm. Different animal.
If you look here at this tractor house listing it shows the exact trailer is he contemplating in good condition asking price $4800 and it's not banged up. Its also from a dealer, so more markup.

So yeah, OP offering $3500 is spot on.

So yeah, OP offering $3500 is spot on.

That trailer is 7 years old. Dealers have to sell used stuff at fair prices otherwise nobody would buy it. Assuming that trailer is actually worth $4800 and the trailer the OP is looking at is pretty much the same it’s worth more than $3500. The op said the trailer was $7000 plus freight. Don’t forget tax unless you’re farm exempt. Hey, they might take $3500 but I think it’s a pretty low offer.
