I have a ghent in the neighborhood that has contacted me about some used implements that he wants to me to buy or sell for him. The following 3 implements are all 3 to 5 years old.

Land Pride post hole digger. It is either a 10 or 15 series with a 12 auger and two 6 inch augers.

5' box blade in nice shape, I could not see a manfacturer name but the color is red if that helps. It looks too new for a repaint it has 5 replaceable points & replaceable cutting edge all in good condition.

5' back blade in nice shape, I could not see a manfacturer name but the color is red if that helps. It looks too new for a repaint.

Can anyone give me an idea of what I should expect to pay for these items?

THANKS!

I would be interested in 2 out of the 3 if you want...
The PHD & Box Blade are what I would be interested in...

Let me know...

There is some difference in the heft of equipment and that would make a difference. You can buy a 5' back blade for 200 new! I would look at comparable new pricing and then cut it by 1/3 minumum.

Depending upon the price and the build quality I might be interested in the back blade. I think the 5' box blade would be a bit much for much TC24d. You are close enough that it would make a nice Saturday drive.

I think a good stating placed on price would be 50% of new.

Condition, quality and features determine the worth of the items.

I sold an old light duty Speeco Rear Blade for $50 and felt fortunate to get that. The blade was very light and had minimal features, it basically adjusted to about a 30 degree angle each way. It did not reverse, it did not tilt, and it was pretty rusty. When I priced new blades I found blades from the around $100 up to $350 new, I purchased the one had the features I wanted, if I sell it, it will be priced based on the condition, quality and features.

I bought a used Befco 60" finish mower for $1100 that was in fantastic shape and easily would have cost several hundred more had I bought new. I felt I did well there.

A Land Price PHD is typcially a more expensive unit, but the series will make some difference in the resale price. $300 on the low end seems reasonable maybe as high as $500?

Box blade run the gamut of cheap to good quality, ditto the back blade. What features they have will help determine the selling price.

Does the back blade have tilt? Offset? Does it have a welded cutting edge or is it a reversable/replaceable cutting edge? If it is heavy and has multiple features it can probably sell for up to $200 used if it adjusts with pins instead of bolts.

Box scrapers can have reversable rear blades, or two sided rear blades, they can have welded cutting edges or reversable ones. They can have adjustable scarifiers or single position scarifiers, and they can be bolted in or they can be designed to be adjusted with pins. The box blade might sell for as low as $150 and maybe up to double that, depending on the original price and the features.

Just my thoughts on values.

jwstewar . . . I use a 60" box blade on the back of my NH TC24D and it is not too much of a struggle, the soil conditions I used it in was basically dry hard clay.

It works better on my Kubota B2910, but that tractor has more weight and more HP.

I've stopped the TC24D dead in its tracks using a 5' rear blade, but that was when it hooked too many granite cobble stones and the granite weighed as much as the tractor.

Hello. I am new to the forum and have been reading posts with great interest for the past couple of weeks. At last a subject that I know a bit about. A new LP PHD 15 w/1 9" auger runs about $815. If it has a stand also, then add $50-100, because a new stand is around $115. Cheapest 6" auger you can get is around $100 new. If all the pieces are Land Pride, then each auger runs around $150 new; my LP 9" auger ran around $200 new; a 12 in would run maybe $240 new. LP diggers come with 5 yr gearbox warranty; you need to check on whether it will transfer and get original proof of purchase/delivery date if it does. I would go for 50% of new, assuming that it is all Land Pride.
